Requesting Library Items: Interlibrary Loan: Who can request materials through I-Share?

Who can request materials through I-Share?

On-campus students, faculty and staff can request materials from I-Share libraries through the catalog for pick up at the Klinck Memorial Library.

Off-campus students who live in Illinois can request books through the catalog and choose the I-Share library close to their home as the Pick-Up Location. I-Share’s reciprocal borrowing policy also allows patrons who are registered borrowers at an I-Share library (such as Concordia's library) to visit any other I-Share library and borrow items onsite.

Out-of-state students should not request items through I-Share, but instead request materials through Interlibrary Loan.  Include a note requesting that the item be mailed to you, and include your address.

Often the fastest way for out-of-state students to obtain materials is through their local public library; if the public library does not have the book in question, they can obtain it through the public library's Interlibrary Loan department.  Most academic and public libraries belong to one or more regional library consortia which will help in finding the materials students need from free lenders.
