Nursing Research: Writing Center

The Writing Center is a place where all students can come to talk with peers about any aspect of writing at any point in the process. 

Make an Appointment:

  1. In-person in CULearn's Learning Commons. The second floor of the Christopher Center: CC248.

  2. By phone at 708-209-3462.

  3. Online, via Navigate. Select 'I Want to Make an Appointment' then 'CULearn' the location, and then under 'Service' select the type of academic support you're looking for (subject tutoring, writing support, etc.)

  4. Email: Students can also email their papers to writingcenter@cuchicago.edu.It may take up to 72 hours to get the feedback to you.

Purdue OWL

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) at Purdue University provides information to assist with many writing projects no matter what the skill level.

Check out the subtopics under General Writing or Research and Citation or Avoiding Plagiarism or Graduate Writing to name a few.

You may even consider OWL Exercises to brush up or learn more about topics like grammar, punctuation, spelling, sentence structure, etc.

UNC at Chapel Hill Tips & Tools

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill provides many "Tips & Tools" to help with the writing process.  Topics headings include: 1.Writing the Paper; 2. Citation, Style, and Sentence Level Concerns; 3. Specific Writing Assignments or Contexts; and 4. Writing for Specific Fields. Each topic heading then drills down into several  sub-topics to address specific components of writing within that field. A very useful resource.
