What are OERs?

Open Educational Resources (OER), like ebooks and lesson plans, are teaching, learning and research materials in any medium – digital or otherwise – that reside in the public domain or have been released under an open license that permits:

  • increase student retention and satisfaction
  • no-cost access
  • no copyright restrictions
  • credible authors and quality resources
  • use anytime--embed directly into Blackboard
  • adapt to your lesson plans
  • share with others freely
