The Instructional Design and Technology (IDT) department partners with faculty to enhance teaching and learning at Concordia University Chicago (CUC) through evidence-based instructional practices, thoughtful integration of technology, and personalized support. We empower instructors across modalities—online, hybrid, and face-to-face—by providing resources, training, and collaborative consultation throughout the full instructional lifecycle—from course design and delivery to assessment and reflection.
Our mission is to foster a culture of teaching excellence rooted in innovation, reflection, and student success. Grounded in CUC’s mission and values, we work to elevate faculty development, promote inclusive and effective pedagogy, and support the continuous improvement of course design and delivery. Through innovative tools, pedagogical guidance, and accessible professional development, IDT advances a campus-wide culture of teaching excellence in service to the Church, the community, and the world.
