Candidates will access the Application for Student Teaching Internship via their Tevera account.  The following documents will need to be submitted in Tevera with the application:

BA/BS/BME Students:

  • PDF of Degree Works
  • PDF of First Aid and CPR Certification
  • PDF of Content Test Passing Score
  • Completion Certificate from Safety Education Module
  • Current Resume PDF
  • BME Students - PDF of Piano Proficiency Test Part II
  • LTE Students - PDF of Signed Rubric for LTE Interview II
  • Foreign Language Students - Oral Language Proficiency Exam Results

MAT/Capstone Students:

  • PDF of Degree Works
  • PDF of First Aid and CPR Certification
  • PDF of Content Test Passing Score
  • Completion Certification from Safety Education Module
  • Plan of Content Coursework
  • Current Resume (MAT Only)
  • Administrator Evaluation (Capstone Only)
  • Letter from Chief Administrator (Capstone Only)
  • ISBE Form 83-88 (Capstone Only-if in Public School)

Application to Student Teaching

The Application for Student Teaching is available in Tevera.  Use the link on the left to access Tevera and submit your application and supporting documents.

  • You will use the "Site Placement" Tab to access the Application for Student Teaching.

Candidates must be admitted to the Student Teaching Internship to begin student teaching. Each candidate must apply and meet the requirements to be admitted. Candidates must pass ILTS Content Exam for their content area before the placement process begins.

1. Applications

  • Fall semester student teaching: Applications will open on February 1st and close on March 15th of the semester prior to the Student Teaching Internship. Proof of all requirements (test scores, first aid, etc.) is due when a candidate submits his or her application for student teaching.

  • Spring semester student teaching: Applications will open on September 1st and close on October 15th of the semester prior to the Student Teaching Internship. Proof of all requirements (test scores, first aid, etc.) is due when a candidate submits his or her application for student teaching.

2. Requirements for Admission to Student Teaching Internship:

  • Admission to the College of Education

  • Undergraduate Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher at Concordia

  • Graduate Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at Concordia

  • Earn a grade of C or better in all coursework applied to Professional Program requirements

  • Complete Professional Instructional (Methods) Course(s)

  • 80 pre-professional hours on file (100 pre-professional hours must be completed and on file before the first day of the Student Teaching Internship)

  • Official score report(s) documenting a passing score for the Illinois Content-Area Test(s) along with subarea scores listed.

  • First Aid/CPR Certification (including proof of in-person skills training)

  • Safety Education Module Completion (link to module found on this LibGuide page)

  • Plan of Content Coursework (MAT/Capstone Only)

  • Dispositional Self-Assessment

  • Pass Piano Proficiencies Test Part II (BME Candidates only)

  • Successful completion of Interview #2 (LTE Candidates only)

Placements and contracts for the Student Teaching Internship will only be processed after all requirements are met and documentation is submitted and approved via Tevera.
