Student Teaching Internship Attendance Policy

Full daily attendance is required throughout the sixteen-week student teaching internship.

 • In the event of an unavoidable absence caused by extenuating circumstances, report the absence by phone as soon as it is anticipated, to the following people in the order listed: cooperating teacher, university supervisor, and the Office of Field Experience (708-209-3086).

• In addition, follow the cooperating school’s faculty absence policy to notify all appropriate personnel.

• Submit an Absence Notification Form via Tevera including substitute lesson plans, possible doctor’s note, or other documentation.

• More than three absences will result in referral to the Assistant Dean and Office of Field Experience.

• Consequences for excessive absences (more than three) include referral to TCCRB, removal from student teaching internship, failure of student teaching internship, or extension of student teaching internship
